Tap a number to check off a step as you go.

  1. Open Account and security

Everyone has this screen. Find the Two-step sign-in card.

  2. Turn it on

Tap "Turn on two-step sign-in". You need an authenticator app, like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password.

  3. Scan and type the code

Scan the code on screen with your app, or type the key it shows. Then type the 6-digit code your app gives you.

  4. Sign in with it

From now on, after your password you type a fresh code from your app. On a phone or laptop that has it, you can also sign in with Face ID, Touch ID or your fingerprint.

  5. Brokers: ask everyone

The broker or the brokerage admin can switch on "Everyone in the brokerage should use two-step sign-in". Whoever has not turned it on sees a reminder, and the broker sees who has it on.

Good to know
  • Turning two-step off asks for a code from your app first.

Questions

Is a text message code an option?

No. Codes come from an authenticator app, which is safer than a text message.
