Lofty and Follow Up Boss are built on different ideas. One puts many tools in one platform; the other is a focused CRM that connects to everything. The right pick depends on how you work.
If you are choosing between Lofty and Follow Up Boss, you are already looking at two of the best known names in real estate software. Lofty sells an all-in-one platform with a CRM, IDX websites, lead generation and AI agents. Follow Up Boss sells a lead CRM with a built-in phone system and a big integration library. This guide puts them side by side using only what each company publishes, then gives you a checklist you can use on any option, including ours.
RealtyMind is not affiliated with Lofty or Follow Up Boss. Details about them come from their own websites and help centers, checked 11/01/2026, and can change. Confirm anything important with the vendor.

Seven things to check
What the AI actually does
Both companies talk about AI, but they describe different jobs. Lofty's homepage says its AI "initiates action autonomously, engaging leads and booking appointments," and lists named agents such as a Sales Agent, a Homeowner Agent and a Social Agent (lofty.com, checked 11/01/2026). Its Sales Agent page (checked 11/01/2026) describes a virtual ISA that qualifies leads and books appointments, and its FAQ says it primarily works by text and email. The same page also advertises an AI outbound call feature that books a callback.
Follow Up Boss lists its AI on its pricing page (checked 11/01/2026) as part of the Pro plan: smart summaries, smart messages, suggested tasks and predictive lead prioritization. Those help an agent work faster. Neither page is the same as an AI that answers the phone and holds a full conversation, so ask each vendor to show you exactly that, live.
Inbound calls at night
This is where the details matter. Lofty's help center says its Unknown Inbound Call Handler answers calls from unknown numbers to collect information, but notes it "cannot hold a conversation with the caller" (Lofty help center, checked 11/01/2026). Follow Up Boss describes a full phone system so calls live in the CRM (its own site, checked 11/01/2026). Ask both: who or what picks up a buyer's call at 10 PM, and what happens next?
What the seat includes
Follow Up Boss publishes its prices. On 11/01/2026 its pricing page listed Grow at $69 per user per month billed monthly, Pro at $499 a month with 10 users included, and Platform at $1,000 a month with 30 users included, plus a calling add-on for Grow at $39 per user per month. The page says AI features carry no extra charge, though some rely on calling data. Lofty's homepage did not list prices when we checked, and links to a separate pricing page. Ask for a written quote with every add-on.
Free trial and contract
Follow Up Boss offers a 14 day free trial and its pricing page says there are no contracts. Lofty's homepage says it does not currently offer a free trial and offers a one-on-one demo instead. Know before you start whether you will evaluate hands-on or through a guided demo.
Websites, IDX and transactions
Lofty's homepage lists IDX websites, lead generation, a power dialer and paperless transaction tools in one platform. Follow Up Boss is built to connect: its site advertises more than 250 integrations, and its pricing page lists lead source and website connections in every plan. If you want one login, count the tools you would add to each. If you love your current website and lead sources, a connector-first CRM may suit you.
The phone app
Both offer mobile apps. Follow Up Boss describes apps for iPhone and Android with instant lead and text alerts. Lofty lists a mobile app plus a separate home search app for clients. Test each on a real showing day: call, text, move a deal and send homes without opening a laptop.
Compliance and the move-out
Ask how each one handles consent before AI texts or calls, quiet hours, opt-outs, recording notices and fair housing checks on AI-written ads. Then ask how you export everything if you leave, and whether opt-outs travel with your contacts.

Which kind of team fits each
Based on how each company describes itself, here is a fair way to think about fit. It is general, so test with your own leads.
- You want one platform with a website and lead generation built in. Look closely at Lofty's all-in-one setup, and ask how its AI agents hand off to people.
- You want a focused CRM that plugs into the tools you already pay for. Look closely at Follow Up Boss and its integrations, and price the calling add-on if you are on Grow.
- You want AI to answer the phone and hold the conversation. Ask both vendors for a live call demo, and compare it with an AI front desk built for that job.
- You want deals, paperwork and splits in the same system as your leads. Count the extra tools you would need next to either one. Our comparison page has a quick counter.

Where RealtyMind fits
RealtyMind is a third option, built AI-first, with the lead inbox, phone, listings, transactions and splits in one system. It is in private pilot today. From our features page:
- Sofia, the AI front desk, answers calls and texts on the brokerage and agent lines 24/7 with real two-way voice conversations, qualifies buyers and sellers, books showings and warm-transfers hot leads to your phone.
- One lead inbox. Zillow, Realtor.com, Homes.com, Facebook, your site and open houses land in one place and route by area, price, language and agent load.
- Ivy, the AI marketer, writes listings and posts in your brokerage's voice, with a fair housing check before anything posts.
- Tess, the AI transaction coordinator, builds the timeline from the contract, chases signatures and files the folder for broker review. Splits and statements live in the same system.
- Compliance stays on. AI calls and texts go only to people who opted in, STOP works right away, Sofia says the call is recorded, and no showing is booked before a signed buyer agreement.
Free trial, free move-in of your data, no setup fee, month to month. Pricing is announced at launch.
Coming from either one? Both are common starting points on our switching page, and your old system keeps running until you are sure.
Questions to ask both vendors

- What does one seat include, and what is an add-on?
- What is the total monthly cost for my team, with every fee?
- Is there a trial, a minimum term or a setup fee?
- How do consent, quiet hours and opt-outs work for AI texts and calls?
- How do I export all my data, and do opt-outs come with it?
